Ghost Gaming Youth Academy!

The new youth training academy, launching in early 2023, will leverage kids' passion for video games and esports to develop life skills and career preparedness.

ATLANTA (December 15, 2022) Ghost Gaming, the Atlanta-based gaming lifestyle org and professional esports team, today announced the planned Q1 2023 launch of Ghost Gaming Academy, a platform for youth enrichment and skill development.

Ghost Gaming Academy will offer outside-of-school pathways and projects for student engagement and career preparedness within and adjacent to the gaming industry -- including Professional Esports Competitor, Content Creator, Livestream Broadcaster, and even Game Designer.

The newly named Director of Ghost Gaming Academy is PK Graff. PK has more than a decade of experience as a Teacher and Instructional Designer in technology, gaming & esports including a research fellowship at Georgia Tech and a research fellowship at the North American Scholastic Esports Federation (NASEF). Within Georgia, PK has launched 11 middle school esports programs and acts as general manager for 7 varsity esports teams. His research area of specialization is fostering resiliency in at-risk students through scholastic gaming.

“Structured esports can transform youth screen time into personal development and skill development”, said Todd Harris, CEO of Ghost Gaming. “PK is a top practitioner of scholastic esports and our program combines his classroom and youth esports coaching experience with content and lessons from game industry professionals including professional competitors, coaches, gaming content creators, and even game designers. Our Ghost Gaming Academy mission is to deliver positive and inclusive gaming experiences that empower youth to shape their future.”

Courses will be delivered in an online format with opportunities for in-person engagement and league play at partner gaming venues across the country as well as invitational events culminating at Ghost Gaming’s headquarters and esports campus in Atlanta, Georgia.

Earlier this year Ghost Gaming announced the acquisition and operation of the Georgia Esports League, the collegiate esports property supported by the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the Georgia Film Academy, and Piedmont as the Official Healthcare Provider.

Ghost Academy U18 participants will have opportunities for interaction with Georgia Esports League collegiate players and Ghost Gaming’s professional coaches and players.
